MILAN FILM is an award-winning Swiss production company based in Basel (Switzerland) on the borders of Germany and France and connected by the Rhine and in Zurich, the film metropole of Switzerland.

MILAN FILM is an award-winning Swiss production company founded in 2016. We develop and produce feature fiction, documentaries and series. Our offices are based in Basel and Zurich.

We focus on current, socially relevant topics, realizing films that are primarily about people grappling with moral and existential issues, while remembering to include the humorous side when appropriate. Our aim is to tell stories that reach a broad audience – to make people laugh and cry, as well as to introduce topics which are not often discussed openly.

Cyrill Gerber

CEO & Producer

Cyrill Gerber, born 1984, studied philosophy and German. First worked as a screenwriter at Constantin Entertainment in Munich and completed further training as a producer at the Bavarian Academy for Television. In 2018, he finally produced his first feature film OUT OF PARADISE as co-producer, which won the Best Film Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. He is a board member of Balimage (Basler Verein für Film und Medienkunst) and a member of the Swiss producers‘ association IG Unabhängige Schweizer Filmproduzenten.

Caroline Meier

COO & Producer

Caroline Meier studied cultural management and media studies. She started at the Zurich Film Festival as part of the press team and then joined the culture-oriented communications agency eggliwintsch. She then moved to Basel to take up a position as head of promotions at the film distribution company cineworx, where she also took over the office coordination of the Balimage association as a secondary mandate. After a brief detour into the gastronomy and hotel industry, she finally joined Milan Film, where she can now combine all her skills.

Colin Schmid

Line Producer

Colin studied German and Film Studies, where he is currently completing his master’s degree. In 2022, he started as a production assistant at Milan Film, quickly advancing to the role of production manager for a Service Production of a Philippine TV series. Now he is an integral part of the Milan Film team as a line producer. In addition to his work in film production, he is involved as a co-founding member of the Brugger Documentary Film Days, contributing to the visibility of documentary films in Switzerland and works in the cinema Excelsior in Brugg. His work in production and distribution allows him to have a comprehensive understanding of the film process from the initial idea to the silver screen.

Omid Taslimi

Junior Producer & Production Manager

Omid Taslimi, who originally trained as an audio engineer, has been active in the film industry since 2012 and ventured into independent directing and producing in 2014. His first feature documentary, BE AWARE AND SHARE, was released in 2016 and screened in several Swiss arthouse cinemas. From 2018 to 2021, he was involved in several film and commercial productions as a location and unit manager. Recently, he worked as a producer and director for Aviaticfilms in Basel before joining Milan Film in 2024.
